LG Showcased the World’s First LTE USB Modem at CommunicAsia 2009

Recently at CommunicAsia LG demonstrated the world’s first handset modem chip based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. It is nearly 10 times faster than the fastest 3G HSDPA handsets available today and LG showed how this chip can be used to simultaneously download four HD-quality videos and play them back in real-time.

Actually this was not the first time LG showed off the LTE USB modem. Nortel already utilized LG LTE USB modem for its LTE solution demo at Mobile World Congress 2009 in February.

Dell Unveiled USB Digital TV Tuner

Recently Dell unveiled a USB Digital TV Tuner designed for the Inspiron Mini family netbook from Dell. With a starting price of $50, this thumb-sized USB accessory turns the Inspiron Mini into a HDTV on the go! And this new product was recognized with a 2009 CES Innovations Honoree award for Computer Accessories category.

Dell will be offering region-specific versions of this product, designed to receive local broadcast standards including mobile digital television standards like ATSC in the U.S., DVB-T in Western Europe, ISDB-T 1-seg (a.k.a. One Seg) in Japan, and the emerging CMMB standard in China. Dell expect the tuner to be available later this quarter, first in Europe, followed by North America and Asia-Pacific and China.

Last month we shared to you Belkin switch to Mac cable. At this time we share to another similar item. Targus ACC9602US, It is file share cable for Mac. Now it’s easier than ever to upgrade from PC to Mac or share files between two Macs.
You don’t have to install a driver. It has integrated software, just plug it in and an icon automatically appears on your desktop.

Here are step-by-step instruction :

On your Mac :
Then plug the other end into the Mac, and an icon of EasySuite CD show up on the desktop.
Double-click the icon to see a folder with three icons, including one appropriately named EasyMacCopy.

Clicked it on that to reveal a very nice application with an intuitive split screen layout.

The top half, it was obvious, contained all of the files on my Windows machine, and the bottom half contained all of the local files (Mac).

And then you can start selecting and copying files from Windows machine over to the Mac.Even you can drag and drop file transfer.

Nokia CS-10, The First Nokia USB HSPA Modem [Video]

Reuter reported that Nokia will start to ship its first Internet stick in early 2009, aiming to benefit from its know-how and experience in developing 3G technologies as told by Tapio Markki, vice president for hardware platform components at Nokia.

“Leveraging these capabilities, we believe we are well-positioned to become one of the winning providers for HSPA modem solutions. The market for HSPA modems is expected to grow very rapidly during the coming years” Tapio Markki, vice president for hardware platform components, Nokia

The USB HSPA modem that will ship in early 2009, presumably the Nokia Internet Stick CS-10 that launched last week at Nokia World 2008 in Barcelona, Spain.

How to use it ? Simply insert your SIM card into your stick, plug it into your computer, and start surfing.

Nokia boast that Nokia CS-10 can get internet download speeds up to 7.2 Mbps and upload speeds up to 2.0 Mbps.It’s connectivity wide range from 3G HSPA : 850/2100MHz and GSM : 850/ 900/1800/1900 MHz. Compatible with Windows XP and Vista,Mac OS 10.4 and 10.5.

Nokia declined to comment on the price of the device — which uses HSPA, a super-fast 3G technology — saying it would be sold mostly through operators and bundled with services.
