Playback Your Video Even MODD File Deleted

File Extension MODD is Sony Picture Motion Browser data file. This file contains information about the movie clip which is contained in a separate  .mpg or .m2ts file such as the time and date of recording.

The contents of a .modd file can be viewed using a text editor such Notepad, the file itself being an XML style file, a markup language that is similar in structure to the web page parsing language HTML.

The .mpg movie file can be played with Windows Media Player. Most other video players will also support playing of .mpg files. While Sony high definition video .m2ts file is a raw AVCHD video and is the preferred file format used by many Sony camcorders (and by some other brands). The .m2ts files can be played using the Sony Picture Motion Browser, or with many other video players.

File Extension MODD is used to record the results of the Video Analysis function in Sony Picture Motion Browser software. This file is necessary to use the features associated with the Video Analysis function – such as Highlight index, Film Roll index, Calendar index, and others.

If the File Extension MODD is deleted, you can still playback movie files without any problems. However, the features available with the Video Analysis function in the Sony Picture Motion Browser software will no longer be available.

First check and see if there is a .m2ts file in the same directory with it. This is actually the file which you want to open to view the video which is described in the .modd file. First check to make sure that you have the Sony Picture Motion Browser software installed, and then try double clicking on the .m2ts file. Then you can playback your video even MODD file deleted.
