Western Digital Launched Portable Drive for Mac Utilize FireWire 800

I have used Powerbook G4 Titanium for 3 years. I was very enjoy and have much fun with it. I am a beginner photographer and graphic designer too. I used Powerbook for transfer photos from my camera utilize USB port. Although it was quite long time to transfer especially from Kingstone’s CF 4GB in my Olympus C8080.For external drive, I didn’t use any portable drive, only USB Flash Disk.
I never had trouble in transferring files using USB port in my old Powerbook. Off course, because I’m not professional photographer yet who use big files to transfer or editing. But there is good news for professional photographer, Western Digital launched its Passport Studio portable drive offering 400GB and 500GB. For professionals Mac users like photographers and videographers need for large amounts of fast, portable storage for their high-definition files .”With a new FireWire 800 interface, My Passport Studio speeds up editing and transferring of big media files making it perfect for performance-minded Mac computer users on the go,” said Jim Welsh, senior vice president and general manager of WD’s Branded Products and Consumer Electronics Groups.
My experience will be big different if I’m using Western Digital Passport Studio 500GB, and plug into a New MacBook Pro ! That’s my next holiday’s wish :-)
